ABOUT REIKI |
REIKI, THE USUI shiki ryoho
also known as the usui SYSTEM OF NATURAL HEALING
It is first and foremost the energy of life. It is an electromagnetic energy that is common to all substance. Where there is form, there is a certain static energy that holds the form in place – the linking, the bonding, the unifying energetic. It's this energetic that's known as Reiki – the universal life energy.
In that context, when this energy is transmitted purposefully in a concentrated or focused way, it seeks to enliven the core energetic velocity of a Being (any organism). For all entities, the application or introduction of Reiki brings about a resonance much like that of a well-tuned instrument, such as a piano or a guitar or a violin. When it is well aligned in its vibration, it produces with great harmonic quality.
To be clear, Reiki does not circumvent the healing process, or the process of coming into alignment and wholeness, but rather it collapses the time – it fast-forwards the process. So, where there is behavioral or physical mis-alignment, that will be brought to a state of wholeness more quickly, not by circumventing the natural process, but by accelerating it. The energy is the energy of the divine. There will only be wholeness and perfection in its expression.

THE HISTORY OF REIKI
Buddha and Jesus
These individuals simply exemplified the capacity of what is possible in this balance. They exemplified the form of the “laying of the hands,” as well as exemplified the living example of being in a state of balance and wholeness in the body/mind/emotion/soul. They exercised it as an act of knowing the holy innate wholeness of a Being or Beings, and then also utilized the vibration of the energy to live that state of balance in their life.
So this energetic is not the domain of a particular philosophy of religious thought; it is universal to all.

The Usui Lineage
The Usui lineage is a time-honored lineage, born from a Christian educator in Japan, Mikao Usui.
The spiritual “challenge” brought forward to Usui was to understand the way, the mechanics, the methodology of healing by touch on the part of Jesus – because students took very literally the scriptural reference by Jesus that said “this you shall do and more.”
Usui dedicated his journey in life to the understanding of that challenge, that question. In this journey, it was very much seen that there was an understanding or appreciation of this faith-level of expression, but not a direct expression of instructional purpose.
It was within the teachings of the sutras that Usui was seeing the Buddhic expression of this “healing,” and was given direction to a passage of the sutra that said “those who will know the way of this faith expression have but to sit with a clear heart and clear mind in the sacred space, both internal and external, and the revelation will be brought upon them.”
In that experience, Usui did encounter his own journey to the sacred, and experienced that revelation for himself.
With dedication, he accepted this mission to bring the understanding and the use of this consciousness to the Earth anew. And it was through this journey of disciplined awareness and practice that the construct of the Usui system of natural healing was brought through the ages.
It has been passed in a sacred lineage system from master to master, master to teacher, through time, as it was given by the spiritual leaders of their time.

Reiki is Reiki
Out of this Usui system have come many variations of the consciousness with which the energy is held, practiced and exchanged. None are particularly inherently better or worse, but simply different.
In the essential practice or discipline, there is a consistency of consciousness that is born in an honoring of the longevity of the oneness of all to the divine. The emphasis of the discipline is on the uniqueness with which the relationship to this energy is made apparent in each Being.
So, other disciplines that have arisen have all come, to some extent, through this consistence, but many reflect varying degrees of consciousness deviant to that essence – departing from that essential simplicity.
And it is reflective, certainly, of the overall disposition of consciousness within the cultures it is practiced. So those in simpler ways of life do seem to be attracted to the essential Usui system. Those who operate from a more mentalized construct, they prefer something that alters the practice to reflect a more clinical perspective.
But the energy does not change. Reiki is Reiki. It cannot be altered or degraded to meet the consciousness of the individual. Rather, it will always amplify the soulfulness of the Beings receiving or practicing.

Reiki Attunements
Reiki Students/Practitioners
All of us instinctively know how to use Reiki; it is innately human to place our hands over an injury. The Usui system attunes each student to the natural flow of Reiki from the palms of the hands, and provides a system of using this energy to promote wholeness.
Everyone has the capacity to transmit this energy. When a person is born onto the planet, there is a core energetic corridor – the chakras. This energetic corridor within the Being, all Beings, is aligned.
Now, what tends to occur, is an individual is “conditioned” mentally/emotionally into a consciousness of being separate from nature or the divine, that corridor, that pipeline, will have the tendency to become congested. It will start to close. Just like if you’ve got a pipe in your house, over time, the chemical reactions and such will cause a lessening of the velocity of the water carried in the pipe. That is what occurs in people, as well.
So this concept or construct of attunement to Reiki, first and foremost, is a commitment within the individual – a soulful commitment – that says “I offer myself to the innate nature of my Being, to the holy nature of my Being.” It is an agreement made in connecting the divine mind and individual mind as one – a marriage of sorts.
In addition to this, the ritual of attunement opens and rededicates that pipeline, that pathway, in an open, pure, consistent velocity that is innate to the individual. Also within that attunement process is a sealing open of that pipeline so that it never returns to an altered or lessened state.
The effect of this experience is relative to the commitment of the individual to present themselves uniformly in a state of holy union – the balance of integrity between the body, mind and emotion to who or what the individual is soulfully. It is an ongoing relationship between divine mind and the individual to the holy expression of the soulful Self embodied.

Reiki Masters |
mastery
Where a Reiki Master is concerned, it is not necessarily that the Master is more potent or powerful or better (we do not wish to see it or address it in such a manner), but rather it is to see the Master as one who has dedicated their life to the discipline and practice, as well as to the elevation of the discipline through education and teaching. Therefore, a somewhat different focus is brought about than that of the student.
Also, the focus for a Reiki Master is that of the dedication to the student or one who has received the attunements through them – to support their holy expression and advancement in life.
The Master has a different focal dedication to the discipline and the practice.
When one comes to this energetic discipline with a lot of energetic baggage, they have to move through the baggage to get to the energy. That doesn’t present a particular challenge to the energy flow; it does, perhaps, alter the velocity of or the clarity of the one who is presenting the energy.
So when a Master such as Mr. Casey sits with another, there is little interference in the mind. The energy moves in a very clear vehicle.
While another may be questioning or doubting themselves, or suspicious of their own divine nature – the energy will seek to balance that, and will be given from the overflow.
It is always that the energy must fill the individual, and flow outward from there.
The benefit of using a Reiki Master is that it is a vocation, not an avocation for the Master. A Master will constantly check-in energetically on those treated.
Richard Casey is one of the Reiki Masters who trained in the traditional lineage with the lineage bearer and Grand Master. He incorporates Reiki in his Life Coaching sessions, and continues to support and mentor his many students and Masters.

Fine-Tuning Performance Horses (and other animals) and Deepening Connections Through Reiki

Reiki for Horses, Dogs, Cats and Other Animals
Animals do not have the habitual limitations that are present in most people – so they do not see themselves outside of oneness or wholeness. So for them, the introduction of Reiki is actually a much more succinct vibratory experience, as they do not have to rationalize it or mentalize it – they simply receive the depth and breadth of the energy at its essential offering level. Reiki aligns to the core energy of their essence.
What to Expect
A greater calmness, a greater peace and a greater attentiveness, because you are heightening all of the alchemical systems of the animal – that animal is going to be more of what it was meant to be: a very well-tuned instrument.
Also it will assist in the connection between the animal and individuals – the human world and animal world. What most commonly seen is a greater peacefulness, calmness and self-assuredness in the animal.
The application time of hands-on Reiki is always determined by the horse itself. Typically, it will range from 30-60 minutes.
It is very important that the one training or caring for the animals be present so they can see and experience shifts in the animal first-hand. In addition, it is important for the them to be present during the handling or the pass-off of the handling of the animal so there is continuity of the energetic.
Also, it is advantageous for this person connected to the animal at an essential level to be there when the treatment or application of Reiki is done, so that they benefit from the core energetic balance that is present in the environment in which Reiki is given. This brings a greater harmony and peace to all concerned.
Owners/Trainers/Caretakers are people who dedicate themselves to the relationship of oneness with their animals. Reiki is another tool for the expression of that harmonic dedication. It calls for the highest in both the trainer/caregiver/etc. and the animal itself.

Injuries / Drugs / Medications
It will first bring the animal into a balanced state of mental capacity. So, for example, a horse in trauma or pain generates a high level of endorphin activity. Reiki energy will bring about a balance of the endorphins, the adrenal experience, to bring a level state of consciousness within the animal. So, it does not circumvent the healing process, but it alters the vital chemical process to accommodate the innate state of nuero-pathway activity to align to the optimal wholeness of expression.
Just like with people, it does not circumvent the healing process, or the process of coming into alignment and wholeness, but rather it collapses the time – it fast-forwards the process. So, where there is behavioral or physical mis-alignment, that will be brought to a state of wholeness more quickly, not by circumventing the natural process, but by accelerating it.
Reiki brings a greater sense of balance and peace, so agents used to calm an animal will be fewer. Also, the necessity for injury-masking will be less because the injuries will not be so prolonged. And they will not be so prone to injuries.
